Ayrshire East District

Located in the Northeast of the Region, this District again is mainly rural with farming the main occupation. Kilmarnock itself is a centre of Industry with some heavy engineering. The Upper Irvine Valley is also industrial and used to be a centre of lace manufacture.

The northern end of the District comprises of Stewarton, Dunlop, Kilmaurs, Galston, Newmilns and Darvel. The southern end of the district includes Mauchline, Cumnock, New Cumnock and Dalmellington. At one time this was a great coal mining area, but that is all gone and a variety of industries now exist.

The District has 15 Scout Groups an Explorer Scout Unit and a Fellowship.

16th Ayrshire

Located in the town of Newmilns in the Upper Irvine Valley, the Group has Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts

20th Ayrshire

This Group in the town if Stewarton have 2 Beaver Scout Colonies, 2 Cub ScoutPacks and a Scout Troop.

21st Ayrshire

This group is located centrally in the town of Kilmarnock and has Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts.

23rd Ayrshire

This Group is located in the village of Dunlop to the north west of Kilmarnock and supports a Beaver Colony, Cub Scout Pack and Scout Troop.

24th Ayrshire

This group is located in the Upper Irvine Valley in the town of Darvel. it runs Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts.

27th Ayrshire

Located in the village of Kilmaurs, the Group has Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts.

29th Ayrshire

Located in the New Farm Loch area of Kilmarnock, The group have Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts operating.

33rd Ayrshire

Dalmellington is the location for this group. They have Cub Scouts and Scouts operating.

34th Ayrshire

This Group is located in Mauchline and have Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts.

37th Ayrshire

Located in the centre of Kilmarnock, this Group operates from The Henderson Church and has Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts.

46th Ayrshire

This group is located in New Cumnock which is a few miles south of Cumnock. They have a Beaver Colony, Cub Scout Pack and Scout Troop.

65th Ayrshire

The Lugar Group have a Beaver Scout colony and Cub Scout Pack running.

91st Ayrshire

Operating from St Joseph's Church in the town of Kilmarnock, the Group have Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts.

92nd Ayrshire

Based in the town of Galston, the Group have Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts.

104th Ayrshire

This group operate from the town of Drongan and have Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts operating.

The District now has a Scout Network that meets every second Sunday. For details of meetings contact Mhairi

Ayrshire East Scout Fellowship

The District also has an active Scout Fellowship.

They currently have 21 members, with a varied mixture of talents. The Fellowship is District based and exists to provide active support to Leaders and Groups within Ayrshire East Scout District. The Fellowship holds regular meetings, and as well as providing support for Scouting, we organise social nights and activity weekends for our members.
